TONI'S PLATFORM
"Louisa County is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Over the last fours years on the Board of Supervisors, I've worked hard to make it even better."
TONI ON THE ISSUES:
Taxes
Taxes should remain as low as possible. As Chairman, Toni’s budget plan would not require a tax rate increase for at least 10 years. Taxes often cause an undue burden making it more difficult for people to pay their bills and harder for businesses to grow the economy. Growing the tax base by creating conditions for economic growth is the best way to increase the County’s revenue.
Internet
Toni is committed to bringing reliable, high-speed internet solutions to Louisa County by encouraging the growth of our fiber optic network. During his time on the Board, 31 miles of fiber optic internet cable was run to connect all of our schools to high-speed internet, including Jouett Elementary. As chairman, he has worked with private electric utilities to bring direct connections to residents including a project with Central Virginia Electric Co-Op to create 1,300 fiber optic connections in Louisa County.
The Budget
Toni is a fiscal conservative because he understands that the money in the county budget belongs to the citizens, not the government. Wasteful spending prevents the government from using resources to focusing on the jobs that it does well, such as law enforcement, infrastructure, and other core services. Fiscal discipline allows every dollar in the budget to go further so that our core services receive adequate funding and the taxpayers can keep more of their money.
Firearms
Toni is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and believes the right to own firearms should be protected by every level of government. As a rural community where many citizens live far away from main roads and towns, it is necessary to ensure people have the ability to defend their lives and property. This means that citizens should be able to possess the firearms they feel best equip them for self-defense.
Law Enforcement
As a Board member, Toni helped put Resource Officers is every school in Louisa County for the first time. He also worked to hire four new Sheriff’s deputies over the last two years to increase the department’s ability to patrol the County. Law enforcement is a core function of government and should receive priority funding in the budget.
Education
Education has been a priority for Toni. He has successfully worked to raise teacher wages, increase benefits at no cost to teachers, and secured funding for a much needed addition to Jouett Elementary School. Toni was also instrumental in creating the Career & Technical Education Director position by securing funding without raising taxes.
